The Margate Resort On Winnipesaukee
The Margate Resort is a privately owned, independent hotel located at 76 Lake Street in Laconia, NH 03246. Situated right on Lake Winnipesaukee, the grounds and views are beautiful and the hotel offers a uniquely wonderful host site for a weekend of fandom fun.
Staying in the host hotel is mandatory for anyone attending the conference. If at anytime during the conference it is discovered that an attendee is staying off site, the attendee in question will be removed from the conference without refund. This is because The Margate Resort has done something unique for us- they have blocked the entire hotel just for us! We are hoping to have the whole resort to ourselves- a muggle free weekend. To ensure that this is possible, we need all attendees to stay on site. Please respect this rule.
Per hotel policy, someone 21 years of age or more must be staying in each room. If you are under 21 you are welcome to attend the conference, you will just need to make sure you have a roomate who is 21+.
Everyone should be sure to look for roomates in our forums.
To make room reservations, call 1-800-MARGATE (1-800-627-4283). The online reservation system is no longer available as the rooms are close to being filled up. To reserve a room, you MUST mention the group code- MISTICON. We will be providing information on the overflow hotel soon.
Please remember to identify reservation as being a part of the Harry Potter Convention- MISTI-Con to the representative from the hotel. The hotel requires a deposit of one night's stay in order to make a reservation. Remember, the con runs from Thursday evening through Monday morning.
The Margate has confirmed the following guest room rates for each night, the deposit for reservation is one night's stay plus tax. The remainder of your reservation will be charged at the end of your stay.:

Refund policy: The Margate will refund your deposit, subtracting a $25 charge if you cancel before April 1, 2013. Cancelations after April 1 2013 will be charged in full.
